Elisabetta graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Milan in 1982 and went on to obtain a PhD in Animal Science. Since 2013 De facto member European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine- Animal welfare Science, Ethics and Law (AWSEL) Since 2021 Member EFSA Panel Animal Health Animal Welfare. She started her research activity by evaluating the adaptation of livestock to technologies and farming systems through behavioural, physiological and production indicators. Subsequently, for over 20 years he has been involved in the assessment of farm animal welfare by participating in European, national, and regional research projects and contributing to the development of animal-based indicators and welfare assessment protocols for cattle and other livestock species. She is currently Associate Professor in Special Animal Husbandry at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences where she teaches subjects related to farm animal management and welfare in various pre- and post-graduate courses.
