DVM, PhD, ECAWBM – BM, Specialist in Applied Ethology and Animal Welfare

Michela graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Milan in 1994.

Horses and donkeys have always represented a passion for her and her curriculum vitae certifies how much this attitude has turned into a professional commitment. After her PhD, she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Ethology and Animal Welfare and, in 2006, got the Diploma of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine (ECAWBM).

She is currently full professor at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and her teaching and research activities mainly concern the management, behaviour and welfare of equids. Research areas of her particular interest are the assessment and improvement of equid welfare, the development of innovative welfare indicators and the relationship between humans and horses or donkeys.
