DVM, PhD, ECAWBM – BM, Specialist in Applied Ethology and Animal Welfare
Simona graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Sassari in 2003, with an experimental thesis on behavioural disorders in dogs. In 2006, she obtained a specialization in Applied Ethology and Animal Welfare of Livestock and Companion Animals from the Institute of Animal Science of the University of Milan.
In November 2006, she was awarded a PhD in Animal Production, specializing in Applied Ethology, at the Institute of Animal Science of the University of Milan. In 2010, she obtained the Diploma of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine (ECAWBM).
Her research focuses on the behaviour and welfare of dogs and cats. She is a university lecturer for the Ethology module of the Genetics and Ethology course within the Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry and Welfare. She is a speaker at various conferences, courses and seminars, and is the author of national and international publications in the fields of applied ethology and animal welfare.
